S&P 500 gave back all of October's gains in two sessions: Intel down 29%

By the Friday open, the S&P 500 had lost 1.22% and moved to 7626.09 - below the September 30 close (7651.54). As recently as Wednesday evening, the month was up 1.21%; now October is down 0.33%.

China has entered a bear market: CSI 300 is 20% below its June peak

On Thursday, October 22, Asian markets crashed: China's CSI 300 index lost 2% during the session and fell 20% from its June high. A 20% drop from the peak is the formal definition of a bear market.
