Worst session since June 5: Nasdaq Composite lost 747 points in a day

On Friday, October 30, the Nasdaq Composite (the index of American technology stocks) closed at 25,437.00, down 747.73 points, or 2.86%. This is the index's worst day since June 5, and it lost more than 5% over the course of October.

S&P 500 gave back all of October's gains in two sessions: Intel down 29%

By the Friday open, the S&P 500 had lost 1.22% and moved to 7626.09 - below the September 30 close (7651.54). As recently as Wednesday evening, the month was up 1.21%; now October is down 0.33%.
