Ripple received a banking license in the US: cryptocurrency regulation has reached RLUSD reserves

The US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC, the regulator of national banks) has granted Ripple final approval to launch Ripple National Trust Bank. Now the $2.5 billion in RLUSD stablecoin reserves will be managed under federal oversight.

First rules under the US crypto law: stablecoins under supervision from January 18, 2027

The OCC (Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, a division of the Treasury that oversees national banks) has issued a final rule under the GENIUS Act. It is the first of several federal regulators to bring its rules to completion.
