BTC has lost almost 2% and is holding around $80,150, briefly dipping below $80,000. For Strategy (Michael Saylor's company, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin), this means its coins are worth only 6% more than it paid for them.
Three large holders (known as whales) transferred a total of 6,168 BTC to Coinbase Prime - the division of the Coinbase exchange for institutional clients - overnight, about $498.5 million. This is happening with Bitcoin priced around $80,800, that is, at the month's lows.
On October 5, US exchange-traded funds on Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana showed a combined outflow of about $117.9 million. The bulk came from BTC funds, from which investors withdrew $89.8 million.
On the morning of October 2, Bitcoin rose above $86,000 after nearly a week of consolidation. Large sell orders around $85,000 that had been holding back growth were removed, and inflows into spot BTC ETFs intensified again.
