Bithumb was hacked through an employee system; crypto exchange Coinbase suffered a leak through a contractor

South Korea's second-largest exchange by trading volume, Bithumb, discovered on October 27 unauthorized access to a corporate system where employees communicate and exchange files. On the same day, Coinbase reported its own leak — but not because the exchange itself was hacked.

Bitcoin broke through $84,000 and reached a two-week high

On Tuesday, October 21, at around 17:39 Moscow time, BTC rose above $84,000. A few minutes later, the price reached its highest level in the past two weeks - the market exited the corridor in which it had been treading since the beginning of October.

Crypto market liquidations reached $951 million in a day: Bitcoin fell below $81,000

Over the past 24 hours, leveraged positions worth $951.4 million were liquidated on the crypto market, with $876.3 million coming from longs. Bitcoin dropped to $80,764, while Ethereum lost more than 6%.
