Spot Solana ETFs recorded their largest weekly outflow since launch. In the week leading up to October 9, about $24.8 million exited the funds. This is a new outflow record for the category and the first serious reversal after a prolonged streak of positive weeks.
How large the outflow turned out to be
The previous weekly outflow record was about $8.9 million. The new figure is almost three times higher. At the same time, a streak of 14 consecutive weeks of inflows came to an end. For a young ETF category, this is a noticeable change in the structure of demand.
The reversal happened very quickly
Just two weeks earlier, Solana ETFs received about $188.2 million in inflows. That was the second-largest weekly result in the entire history of the category. The following week, inflows shrank to $2.4 million. After that, the figure moved into negative territory. This shift shows how quickly institutional demand can change direction.
What was happening with other crypto funds
Solana was not the only category with negative flows. Bitcoin ETFs lost about $681.1 million over the week. Ethereum ETFs showed an outflow of roughly $542.1 million. For Ethereum, the negative streak continued for the ninth trading day in a row. About $30.7 million exited Zcash funds, and roughly $9.4 million left Hyperliquid ETFs.
Why Solana ETF assets declined more than the outflow
Solana ETF net assets decreased by about 8.9%. The figure fell from $1.90 billion to $1.73 billion. But the outflow itself amounted to only about $24.8 million. The rest of the decline is linked to the drop in the price of SOL itself. Over the week, the token lost about 10.25%. At the time of publication, the price was around $111.53, gaining about 1.45% over the day.
XRP goes against the broader market
Against the backdrop of mass outflows, XRP ETFs continue to attract capital. Over the week, about $11.3 million flowed into them. The positive streak has now continued for 13 weeks in a row. The last weekly outflow was recorded back in July. At the same time, the price of XRP fell by about 8.2% over the week.
What cumulative inflows show
Since the start of 2026, about $816.8 million has flowed into Solana ETFs. Into XRP ETFs - about $635.5 million. Bitcoin ETFs received roughly $494.1 million over the same period. This shows that despite the current week of outflows, interest in Solana since the start of the year still remains significant.
What's next
The next report will cover trading through October 16. The main question is whether buyers will return after the drop in SOL and the record weekly outflow. If outflows continue for several more weeks, this will already look like a more sustained change in institutional demand. If inflows quickly return, the current negative could turn out to be a one-off risk-off move.
Saw SOL dump 10% in a week?
A move of 10% over a few days creates plenty of opportunities for active trading. But the outcome of a trade depends not only on direction, but also on the available trading nominal. In prop trading, the company provides a trading account after passing a skill evaluation, and profits are distributed according to pre-established conditions. It's better to understand the mechanics before the next major move in altcoins.
