Bloomberg and two algo funds pay up to $100,000 a month for Trump's posts 50 ms ahead of the market

Reuters reported on October 28 that Bloomberg, Susquehanna International Group and Jump Trading have subscribed to the Truth API — a paid data feed from Trump Media that delivers Donald Trump's posts roughly 50 milliseconds faster than the social network's regular notifications. The subscription costs between $60,000 and $100,000 a month.

Bloomberg, Susquehanna International Group and Jump Trading bought accelerated access to Donald Trump's posts. Reuters reported this on October 28. The product is called Truth API, and it is sold by Trump Media.

What it is. Truth API is a paid data feed: it delivers publications from the Truth Social network directly to the subscriber. Posts arrive roughly 50 milliseconds earlier than regular network notifications. The price is from $60,000 to $100,000 per month.

Why this matters to a trader. The words of the US president move indices, oil and currencies. Some market participants see these words before everyone else.

Who buys what?

The service launched in July 2026. It broadcasts posts from 10 influential accounts on Truth Social, including the official profile of the US president.

  • More than 10 contracts - that is how many Trump Media reported in August, mostly with Wall Street trading firms.
  • Bloomberg, Susquehanna and Jump Trading - declined to comment on the deals.

What do five hundredths of a second give you?

For a human, it is nothing. Fifty milliseconds is five hundredths of a second, impossible to catch with the eye. But Susquehanna and Jump Trading trade with algorithms.

A robot manages to read the text and place an order within that window.

Posts have already moved prices. In April 2026, oil futures fell sharply after Trump's message about a ceasefire involving Iran.

Why is there controversy around the service?

  1. A request to the SEC. Back in July, Senators Elizabeth Warren and Adam Schiff asked the US market regulator to check whether paid access to the words of the sitting president violates securities laws.
  2. A lawsuit in August. Intercept Media and the Freedom of the Press Foundation stated: official statements are published only on Truth Social, and fast access to them is being sold.
  3. Personal interest. Trump's family trust owns about 41% of Trump Media, and it is the sole beneficiary.

What does this mean for a trader?

The company itself is under pressure. Trump Media shares have lost more than 50% in 2026, and its market capitalization is about $1.8 billion.

The main point: when it comes to headlines on indices, oil and currencies, some participants physically see the news before you do.

That is why scheduled events are easier to trade off the economic calendar rather than off the speed of reaction to a post.

You cannot buy fifty milliseconds

In the race for speed, the retail trader is not a player. $100,000 a month for a data feed and your own algorithms is a different business. But the second part of the equation can be changed. The same percentage on a deposit of a couple thousand and on an account of one hundred thousand is lunch versus a monthly goal. Prop trading is exactly about that link: the company provides the trading notional, you pay for the selection and work within its limits for a share of the profit. It is worth understanding the mechanics before the next post that moves the indices.
